WHAT WE TREAT

Burnout Treatment Centre

At Paracelsus Recovery, our burnout treatment programmes focus on restoring your body, brain, and cellular biochemistry.

A person becomes “burnt out” when they are under constant stress for an extended period of time, putting them in a state of complete physical, mental and emotional exhaustion. Burnout weakens the immune system, causes sleep problems and can incite feelings of helplessness, numbness and disillusionment. If left untreated, burnout can also lead to a host of other conditions such as high blood pressure, heart attack, substance abuse issues, anxiety or depression.

Working in a high-pressure environment, feeling like there is little control over work, a lack of time for loved ones, and too many responsibilities can all contribute to developing burnout, making high achievers, business owners, C-Suite executives and anyone in the public eye particularly vulnerable.  Personality traits such as perfectionism, a pessimistic perspective, control issues, endless ambition, and low self-esteem, all of which are high-achieving Type-A personality traits, can also contribute to your risk.

Recognising the early warning signs and taking appropriate action can help avoid full-blown burnout and its subsequent side effects, which can affect health, success, and wealth. The symptoms of burnout include:

  • Persistent feelings of frustration or irritability.
  • Chronic exhaustion, feeling drained even after rest.
  • Detachment or feelings of cynicism toward work.
  • Decreased performance or productivity.
  • Lack of motivation or feeling indifferent about tasks.
