Types of therapy
Paracelsus Recovery pioneered the live-in therapy model of treatment. We believe that by providing empathy and support 24/7, you are given the best possible chance of long-term recovery.
What is a live-in therapist?
At Paracelsus Recovery, a live-in therapist is at the heart of your 15+ strong treatment team at Paracelsus Recovery. They are a trained psychotherapist or counsellor who stays in a self-contained room in your residence or in an adjacent room if you choose to stay in a hotel.
How does a live-in therapist help me?
All live-in therapists at Paracelsus Recovery are highly experienced and qualified therapists. The role of the live-in therapist is to provide ongoing empathy, support and psychotherapeutic engagement throughout your stay with us. We believe that by using these characteristics as the foundation of our treatment model, we can give you a better chance of achieving long-term and positive change in your life. This is because the strength of the therapeutic bond, also known as the therapeutic alliance, is one of the main indicators of successful treatment. We provide the most comprehensive therapeutic alliance possible by making a therapist available 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
What are the benefits of a live-in therapist?
Live-in therapy is a central element to our treatment programmes that enables us to actively use each of the 24 hours in a day towards a client’s recovery. This is born out of an understanding that many UHNW people cannot simply take a month away from work and slip away from life in the public eye. Therefore, live-in therapy is integral to getting clients on the road to recovery as quickly as possible so they can get back to living their lives.
