Complex Trauma
Understanding Trauma and Its Impact on Mental Health.
As the trauma treatment facility of choice for royalty and UHNW individuals, we have long-standing experience helping clients recover from wealth-specific traumas. We take a comprehensive and discreet approach to trauma treatment, combining cutting-edge psychotherapeutic techniques with holistic healing methods.
Recognising that wealth and status can bring unique pressures, we provide a highly personalised and confidential environment where you can work through trauma without judgement. Our team ensures that every aspect of your emotional, psychological, and physical well-being is supported, guiding you towards lasting recovery and resilience.
Trauma occurs when our innate sense of personal safety is invaded or eradicated, such as when kidnapping or stalking occurs. For our clientele, trauma often stems from unique experiences like overnight fame, public scrutiny, blackmail, or constant fear for personal safety. While trauma will manifest differently in each person, it typically invokes immense panic and stress which will overwhelm our nervous system. As a result, our fight-or-flight mechanism remains “turned on” long after the event is over.
As time goes by and we try to adapt, our sense of safety becomes replaced with a constant sense of fear. Sometimes these feelings are so all-consuming that they can result in a “shutting down” of one’s emotional world. When this happens, a person can feel numb and detached from themselves and others. This will set the stage for issues such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), depression, anxiety or substance abuse. According to various studies, trauma can also trigger endocrine and immune problems such as chronic autoimmune diseases, heart attacks, diabetes, stroke, and even some cancers.
bespoke treatment
How we treat trauma
We can’t tell you exactly what your four-week stay will involve because our patients have no pre-defined treatment path. Everyone who comes to stay at Paracelsus Recovery receives a bespoke treatment plan, with each day thoughtfully structured to include a range of carefully tailored therapeutic elements.
Our treatment includes intensive trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy, designed to help process and resolve deep-seated emotional wounds. We also address the physiological impact of trauma through biochemical restoration, stress management techniques, and mind-body therapies. These therapies are designed to complement one another, ensuring that every aspect of your physical, emotional, and psychological health is addressed. See below for more details.
Our approach considers the whole person: mind, body and soul

We incorporate trauma-focused therapies such as EMDR, Somatic Experiencing, and Internal Family Systems (IFS) therapy to help process and integrate traumatic experiences. Additionally, biochemical restoration and stress regulation techniques address the physiological effects of trauma, ensuring a holistic path to healing.
