WHAT WE TREAT
At Paracelsus Recovery, we’re here to help you break free from your Vicodin addiction. Our holistic, tailored, and practical treatment programmes provide more than just safe, expert-led withdrawal support and symptom management; we also work to uncover and address the root causes of your addiction and restore your health and well-being.
Vicodin is an opioid that belongs to the narcotic analgesics group of medicines. This powerful pain medication works by dissociating the user from the pain. Vicodin is most commonly prescribed for pain severe enough to require opioid treatment or when other pain medicines have been ineffective. It is also prescribed to treat coughs. When used over a long period of time, Vicodin can be addictive.
Physical dependency occurs when an individual relies on Vicodin to an excessive degree. The body grows so accustomed to Vicodin that, in the absence of it, it thinks it is missing something vital. In response to this feeling, the individual experiences withdrawal symptoms. Psychological dependency occurs when we begin to rely on Vicodin to numb or dissociate ourselves from emotional pain such as stress, loneliness or trauma. Most individuals suffering from prescription medication addictions will have varying levels of both physical and psychological dependencies.
Over time, Vicodin abuse can wreak havoc on one’s health. It increases an individual’s risk of developing respiratory depression, liver and kidney damage, experiencing seizures and developing other mental health conditions or substance abuse issues.
If you have developed a Vicodin addiction, it is not your fault and you can overcome it. However, it can be very challenging to detox from Vicodin without professional, structured support. Often, the only way to do this is to undergo a medical detox to manage the physical withdrawal symptoms and to work with mental health experts to manage the psychological withdrawal.
Through our combination of medical, psychological and personal care, we are proud to be the only clinic in the world that addresses co-occurring conditions and every possible root-cause of Vicodin addiction. In doing so, we can help you recover in a matter of weeks, rather than years or months.
bespoke treatment
How we treat Vicodin addiction
We can’t tell you exactly what your four-week stay will involve, as each person’s experience with Vicodin dependence is unique. At Paracelsus Recovery, we recognise that no two recovery journeys are the same so every client receives a completely bespoke treatment plan tailored to their individual needs. However, it is important to emphasise that we do not adopt a specific treatment model. Instead, we advocate for a completely pragmatic approach to addiction; whatever works best for you to achieve your goals.
Your time with us will be carefully structured to include a range of handpicked therapies to support your recovery from Vicodin addiction. We incorporate treatments such as medication-assisted treatment (MAT) alongside other specialised therapies to ensure the process is as comfortable as possible. The therapies are is designed to work in harmony with one another to address not only the physical dependence but also the emotional and psychological aspects of your addiction. See below for more details.
Our approach considers the whole person: mind, body and soul
We understand that everyone’s journey is different, which is why we never take a ‘one-size-fits-all’ approach. Instead, we carefully tailor each programme to meet your unique needs. While we prioritise the latest treatment methods and holistic care, it’s your individual circumstances that ultimately shape how we work with you.
As part of your recovery from Vicodin, we provide a carefully managed withdrawal process, combined with extensive testing to uncover the underlying reasons for your dependency. This understanding allows us to create a personalised treatment plan designed to help you overcome it for good. This bespoke programme will feature a range of therapies such as biofeedback, nutritional therapy, Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT), bioresonance, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), sleep therapies, acupuncture and equine therapy.
We go beyond simply treating any underlying factors contributing to your Vicodin addiction; we also focus on addressing the wider impact of your dependence. This involves treating any neurological or physical damage resulting from your addiction. Our treatments typically involve a multidisciplinary approach, which combines intensive psychotherapy with biochemical restoration and complementary therapies in order to reduce stress and support a long-term, robust recovery.
